The Jane Doze – “I Knew Lies Were Trouble (Zeds Dead x Taylor Swift)

My favorite girls, The Jane Doze, have just rocked my world…again. T-Swift? Yeah, I’ll listen. Zeds Dead? OK, you got my attention. Unreleased Zeds Dead with Taylor Swift? Pressing Play now. Even if you know nothing about music, your ears should easily tell you that this mashup is good, nay great.

Johnny Astro ft Adele – “Goodnight America”

Short and simple, this track just draws you in. With an emotional sound and content that connects with you as soon as the Denzel Washington sample begins, Johnny Astro lays smooth flowing verses over an instrumental that samples Adele herself. I’m in a music posting mood right now, so while most people are saying “Goodnight America”, I’m debating on whether or not I’m going to be posting on B!NM for an extended period of time or if it’s just a short reminiscent dream of the past.

Call Me Skrillex J. Robinson – The Jane Doze

Yes it’s been a long ass time, which is why I’m keeping this post short and to the point. Hot damn, this track will get you up and moving. Carly Rae’s vocals seem to be the hot thing being sampled but The Jane Doze’s decision to pair it with Porter Robinson’s “Language” was a good move. Sounds good, feels good, and makes you dance good. Infectious? Definitely. In the meantime, I’m hoping that either one of the girls from The Jane Doze will call me…maybe.

A Vandal’s Lie – At My Leisure

Wasn’t really planning on posting another track tonight…but then this song came on and I had to put it up for y’all. My man, Vandal, or A Vandal’s Lie to y’all went beast mode with this mashup. I can’t even count how many samples there are, nor do I want to. My reasoning? Because it’s too damn good to try and figure it out instead of enjoying the beauty of the track. Samples are perfectly paired together creating some interesting pairings and at other times creating something perfect. Continue reading

I’m BACK!!!!

I’m back for a post…and it has certainly been a long time coming. If you haven’t heard, I’ve moved down to Chile and was busy looking for work. WELL, I got something in the works so that’s taken up a good chunk of time. I’ve also been running Mashup Mondays for both The Kollection and EARMILK…so that has been taking up lots of my blogging time. I’m going to try and make more of an effort to post up more during the week, but my main weekly posts will be done on those sites. BUT in the meantime, check out this dope live mashup video done by Ithaca Audio after the jump… Continue reading

Easter Egg – The Heist Album

As I alluded to yesterday, Easter Egg absolutely took me by surprise with his mashing ability. Thanks to Simp (and Bruneaux) for the heads up on this guy. To give you an idea of the style of mashups Easter Egg partakes in, think of a funky and hip hop/rap heavy Girl Talk style. The vocal samples are full of older and newer hip hop samples, and what really captured my attention is the flow of the album. Some pitch areas are off at times, but that’s a minor detail. Below is the SC player for his continuous album with links added to his respective album in individualized track format and one continuous track format. So take a listen and download below…

DJ Massakerr – Gimmie Dat Sexy Cobra

If you start off a mash with the Circle of Life track from The Lion King, then you got cojones. Now, if you follow up said introduction to a mash with an even better complete mash then you’re DJ Massakerr. Massakerr is an up and coming masher who delves into the electro/dance/house mashes with Top 40 vocals being mashed into the instrumentals. What I like about this track is that the vocals aren’t the same overused vocal samples except for the LMFAO sample, but LMFAO isn’t the focal vocal sample. That honor goes to Nelly Furtado and Akon. But take a listen and let me know what you think, and as always download below… Continue reading

Macklemore – And We Danced (Music Video)

This is probably one of the funniest videos I have ever seen. An added bonus, it comes for Macklemore’s lyrically genius track And We Danced. I had never really thought of the Seattle MC singing a track like this, especially after listening to most of his deep and thought-provoking tracks that he is known for (take a listen to Macklemore’s Otherside remix below). But this is pure comedic gold. Macklemore reaffirms why he is a personal favorite of mine. Listen below and make sure you grab his stuff on iTunesContinue reading
